The purpose of project BIN

The purpose of my BIN is to get a grasp of the foundamental picture of sectors, industries, leading companies' business, products and services, revenue sources, and their correlation and stage of development in different marco environment.
Investmenting in stocks is the same thing as buying a business. Therefore, the first thing an individual investor should do is to try to understand the business.
I will start out gaining familiarity of select leading large or medium cap growth stocks in select industry groups. An easy way to do this is to use the S&P 500. A more difficult way is to use IBD's 5 leading stocks in 197 industry groups. I will do the former first.

100 Industry Groups

The first object of my BIN is to learn the top 5 stocks in the first half of IBD 197 industry groups. I choose the first 100 industry groups. That will make 500 tickers.
